Ways of working

In-person therapy in Farringdon, Central London

I see adults and couples for in-person therapy in a private therapy room in Farringdon. Being in the same room offers a particular kind of presence, and Farringdon's transport links make it easy to reach from across London.

Recognise this?

This may suit you if…

  • You find it easier to talk when you are physically in the room with someone
  • Home does not feel private enough, or you would like to keep therapy separate from it
  • You spend most of the day on screens and would welcome a break from them
  • You value the journey to and from a session as time to prepare and reflect
  • You live or work in Central London, or travel through Farringdon regularly
  • You are coming as a couple and would prefer to meet face to face

Not sure where to start?

An initial consultation is a simple way to see if we’re a good fit. No pressure.

Therapy in Farringdon

My practice is in Farringdon, on the edge of Clerkenwell and the City. I see adults individually, and couples, for therapy with anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, relationships, stress and burnout, grief and life transitions, among other things.

I am an integrative psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT-informed approaches, working at a trauma-informed pace so that you never feel pushed further or faster than is right for you.

The room

The therapy room is private, quiet and comfortable. It is a space where you can talk without being overheard and without being interrupted, and where there is time to pause, sit with something difficult or say nothing at all for a while.

I share the full address and directions when we arrange your first session. If you have any access needs, please mention them when you get in touch and I will share the access details for the room.

Getting here

Farringdon station is one of the best connected in London. It is served by:

  • the Elizabeth line, with direct trains from Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf and Stratford
  • Thameslink, connecting St Pancras, City Thameslink, Blackfriars, London Bridge and destinations north and south of London
  • the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, one stop from King's Cross St Pancras and from Barbican

If you are coming from a particular part of London, you may find the local pages helpful, for example Farringdon and Clerkenwell, Islington, King's Cross or the City.

What face-to-face therapy offers

Much of what passes between two people is not in words. In the room, it is easier to notice the small things: a pause, a change in posture, a shift in breathing. Many people find this helps them feel understood, and helps me respond more closely to what is happening for them.

There is also something in the ritual of coming to a session. Travelling to a separate place, closing the door and leaving afterwards can create a clear boundary around the work. For some people, this makes it easier to let things surface in the session and to put them down again when they leave.

Coming in person can also be helpful if you spend long days in video calls. A conversation that does not happen through a screen can feel noticeably different, and for some people that difference is part of what makes the hour feel like their own.

Some people also find it hard to fully relax at home, where reminders of everyday pressures are all around.

Mixing in-person and online

In-person therapy does not have to mean every single week. If you are unwell, travelling or simply have a difficult week, we can meet online instead and carry on as usual. Many people find this flexibility makes it easier to keep going over time.

Getting started

If you would like to see whether working together might suit you, I offer an initial consultation. It is a chance to ask questions, tell me a little about what is bringing you, and get a feel for how I work. You can read about fees and what happens in a first session, or get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.
