Therapy close to Angel
Islington has a strong sense of community, and many people would rather see a psychotherapist close to home than somewhere they need to plan a trip around. My practice room in Farringdon is only a short distance from Angel, within walking distance and easy to reach by bus.
The walk down through Clerkenwell is something some people come to value in itself. Having twenty minutes to gather your thoughts before a session, or to let things settle afterwards, can be a useful part of the week.
Who I see from Islington
People coming from Islington are often juggling a lot: demanding jobs, young families, caring responsibilities, or the particular pressure of living somewhere busy and expensive. Some get in touch because anxiety has started to take up more room than they would like. Others are going through a change, such as a new baby, a separation, a bereavement or a move, and want space to think.
I also work with couples from the area who want help talking about something that has become difficult between them. You can read more about couples therapy.
How I work
I am an integrative psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT-informed approaches, choosing what fits you rather than following a fixed programme. I work at a trauma-informed pace, which simply means we go at a speed that feels manageable, and you stay in control of what we talk about.
The room itself is private and quiet.
When getting to Farringdon is not possible
If you are unwell, away or simply cannot face the journey one week, we can meet online instead. Some people start online and move to in-person sessions once they feel ready, or the other way round.
If you are wondering whether therapy might help, you are welcome to book an initial consultation. It is a chance to ask questions and get a feel for whether we would work well together. Get in touch whenever you are ready.
