Therapy that fits around City working life

Working in the City can be stimulating, but it often comes with long hours, high expectations and very little time that is genuinely your own. Many people who work in the Square Mile are capable and successful by outward measures, and still find themselves anxious, exhausted or quietly struggling.

Because Farringdon sits right on the edge of the City, it is possible to fit a session into the working day without losing an afternoon. Appointment times vary; get in touch to ask about current availability. Appointment times vary, so it is worth asking what is currently available.

Common reasons people get in touch

People who work in finance, law, insurance, consulting and the many businesses around them often struggle with work stress and burnout, anxiety, perfectionism and self-criticism, difficulty switching off, or problems with sleep. Others want support with something outside work entirely: a relationship, a loss, or a change they are trying to make sense of.

It can feel hard to admit you are struggling in an environment that prizes composure. Therapy is a confidential place where you do not have to perform or have the answers.

Discretion and confidentiality

Everything we discuss is confidential within the limits set out in the BACP Ethical Framework, which I will explain at the start. The room is private. Nobody needs to know where you are going.

How I work

I am an integrative psychotherapist, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT-informed approaches. With some people that means practical work on patterns of thinking; with others it means taking time to understand where those patterns came from. Usually it is a mix, at a pace that suits you.

When you cannot leave the office

Busy periods, travel and deadlines happen. On those weeks we can meet online instead, as long as you have somewhere private to talk.

If you would like to see whether therapy could help, I offer an initial consultation. You can read about fees or get in touch to arrange one.
